Cromwell Aircraft Edit

The Cromwell Aircraft Company is a (formerly) british aircraft company that dominated the market for heavy duty transport aircraft during World War 2, culminating in the coining of an entirely new class of aircraft dubbed "Air Barges" - Large, tandem winged widebody aircraft destined for cargo transport, and later in WW2 adapted for bomber and gunship roles -, which they pioneered.

After a meteoric rise to power via armed forces contract work, Cromwell Aircraft became the premier supplier of flying boats, cargo planes and heavy bombers - the latter being shared alongside Avro - for the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy Air Arm both.

In 1948, after the dissolution of Great Britain, Cromwell Aircraft was nationalized by the English New Radical party to avoid an exodus of their top engineers and scientists.
